Booking and Payments
A 25% deposit secures your booking, with the remaining balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Details regarding our cancellation policy can be found in our Terms and Conditions on our Booking Page of the website.
We accept payment by BACS or by Cheque. Should you wish to pay by Credit Card we can accept these via our Stripe Account.
Yes! We offer flexible short breaks with a minimum 3-night stay outside of peak summer months. Please fill in our Enquiry Form or contact us directly.
Arrival and Departure
Check-in is from 5:30 PM, and check-out is by 9:30 AM. Please be rest assured that we will contact you beforehand if we are able to offer you an earlier check-in or later check-out.
We will meet you in person when you arrive to welcome you, show you around the cottage, and familiarise you with the grounds.

Grounds, Safety and Dog Policy
There is 17 acres of enclosed mixed gardens, fields and woodland for guests to enjoy. Please be aware that this is a rural property with an abundance of flora, fauna and wildlife so care and attention should be taken when utilising the land.
Yes, we provide a Weber BBQ for guests to use. For safety reasons, we request that the BBQ is NOT used during prolonged heatwaves. At other times, please ensure that the BBQ is placed on the gravel drive outside the cottage or on the stone terrace and away from the wooden decking. Please ensure that the BBQ is cleaned after use. Please do not use disposable barbecues anywhere on the property.
Yes, of course. It is a lovely way to stay warm on cool nights, enjoy the dark skies and create a cozy social spot for family and friends. However, we do ask that The Fire-Pit is NOT used for cooking. Appropriate wood for the Fire Pit can be obtained free of charge from the owners. For safety reasons, we request that the Fire Pit is NOT used during prolonged heatwaves.
NO, unfortunately we cannot allow guests to use the Wood-Burner in the Cabin in the Woods as we are unable to secure adequate insurance for this. However, the Cabin in the Woods provides a wonderful retreat for relaxing, reading a book or to do a spot of birdwatching.
Yes, we welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs at no extra charge. We provide dog bowls if required and a dedicated outdoor wash area!
Please contact us directly before booking if you wish to bring additional dogs. We evaluate requests on a case-by-case basis.
Dogs are welcome everywhere downstairs! We kindly ask that you keep your dogs’ downstairs and do not allow them upstairs or in the bedrooms.
Yes, your dogs can join you on the living room sofas and the window seat, which is considered the "Best Seat in the House" for watching the birds feed and taking in the wonderful views. Please just bring your own clean throws to protect the furniture.
Absolutely! Dogs are very welcome to join you inside both the Cabin in the Woods and the Games Room.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept exempt dogs (e.g., XL Bullies, etc.). Our own dogs share the use of the grounds, and a public footpath passes directly over the land, so we must enforce this strict rule for the safety of everyone on-site.
Dogs have full access to all areas of our grounds. All guest areas are enclosed with gates and stock fencing. However, we cannot guarantee the grounds are 100% escape-proof, particularly if your dogs are known escape artists!
It is rarely used at all. In over 20 years of living here, we have only ever seen a handful of ramblers use it, so you will enjoy plenty of peace and privacy.

The property features ground-mounted solar panels in a field behind the cottage paired with a Tesla Battery storage system, allowing the cottage to run on clean, renewable energy.
Yes, a tethered Wallbox EV charger is available on-site for guests to use at cost.
Your total energy usage is tracked directly through the Wallbox app, and you pay us directly for what you have used at the end of your stay.
Simply let us know when you wish to charge your vehicle, and we will activate the charger for you.
No, not at all. The Tesla Battery and grid backup ensure seamless, uninterrupted electricity while prioritising green power.

Yes, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is provided throughout the cottage.
Yes, fresh, high-quality bed linen, bath towels, and kitchen towels are all included. Additionally oven gloves and a tea towel are provided.
Yes, a Starter Supply of the following items will be provided to help you settle in:
Kitchen Roll, Toilet Rolls, Dishwasher Tablets, Laundry Detergent, Cleaning Materials, Kitchen Foil, Cling Film, Bin Bags, Recycling Bags, Food Compost Bags Salt & Pepper, Dog Biscuits and a Basket of Seasoned Logs for the Wood Burner.
Yes, on your arrival, our popular Afternoon Cream Tea will be provided with freshly baked scones from our local bakery ‘La Patisserie’ in Llandovery. Tea Bags, Milk and individually packaged jam and clotted cream will also be provided. Please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements or if you do not wish to take up the offer of our complimentary Afternoon Cream Tea.
There is a washing machine, portable clothes airer located in the Utility Room and an outside rotary clothesline. Additionally, there is an iron and ironing board provided.
Yes, a full-size dishwasher is located in the kitchen and a starter supply of dishwasher tablets are provided.
Yes, the property is on mains water although it has a private sewage system utilising a septic tank. To prevent the system from failing flush only toilet paper down the lavatories and never put wipes, sanitary products, grease or harsh chemical cleaners down the drains.
An initial supply of seasoned wood is provided free of charge. Additional wood can be purchased for a small charge.
Yes, there is private, off-road parking for up to 4 vehicles right outside the cottage.
The cottage is strictly non-smoking (including e-cigarettes) inside the property. Smoking is only permitted in the designated outdoor garden area.
A bucket of sand can be provided for smokers to safely extinguish their cigarettes. Please note that cigarette butts must not be put into any of the domestic or garden bins provided.
Activities and Local Area
Beginners Archery Lessons and beginners Target Air Rifle Shooting are available to book on-site. ‘Fun Agricultural’ 4 Hole Pitch and Putt Golf Course on-site and a Games Room on-site with Full Size Table Tennis, 5ft Pool/Billiards Table, Free-standing Adult Basketball Hoop, Table Football and Darts. Croquet Lawn (summer only and subject to ground conditions).
The historic market town of Llandovery is just a 5-minute drive (2 miles) away. Here you will find a wide range of eclectic, independently owned shops including La Patisserie, Mathews Butchers (By Royal Appointment), Judy's Ice Cream & Coffee Parlour, Convenience Store, Hardware Shop and a Book Shop to name but a few.
Yes, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco all deliver to the cottage and orders can be made online prior to your stay with delivery arranged for arrival day or during your holiday.
Yes! Llandovery hosts a wonderful monthly Farmers Market right in the centre of town, perfect for fresh local produce and unique local crafts. Throughout the year, there are also many popular local events held in the town, including the Ar y Gorwel Hot Air Balloon Festival over the early, May Bank Holiday Weekend and Llandovery Sheep Festival in September.
Llandovery is incredibly welcoming to dogs! Excellent dog-friendly pubs include The Castle Hotel, The Whitehall, The Bear Inn, and The Kings Head Inn. Dog friendly cafes in the town include Tudors Cafe, Clock Cafe, and the Owls Nest Tea Room Diner where your four-legged friends will be given a very warm welcome.
We are perfectly situated for exploring the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park and the breathtaking Cambrian Mountains, including the spectacular dams and scenery of The Elan Valley. Popular activities include hiking the Llyn Brianne Reservoir Trail, mountain biking, and exploring lots of historic castles in the region, such as Carreg Cennen Castle, Dinefwr Castle, and Llandovery's own ruined castle.
