Once I found this place on Facebook, I just knew it was going to be a very special place! It has ticked all of the boxes, spotless cottage, comfy bed, enclosed garden, great walks and brilliant hosts. The dogs have had a lovely time walking in the woods and watching the birds from the window seat. The weather was very kind to us. 100% recommend Basel Cottage and looking forward to coming back next year already.

Our first visit to Basel Cottage and what a lovely, relaxing week we have had. We have been so comfortable in the cottage and we have loved every minute of exploring the grounds. We have seen very little of the area because we have wanted to spend our days here just watching the birds. We identified 32 different ones here! Thank you for being such lovely hosts and for the scones and banana bread. Evie says 'thank you' to Barney and Teddy for the chews and for sharing their lovely woodlands and all its great scents!

It has been great to visit and see the cottage, woods, fields and stream at a different time of year. We absolutely love our breaks here and have benefited from some great weather. Again we have enjoyed our daily wander through the fields to the woods and Sully has exhausted himself with all his exploring. Sue and Jonah have been wonderful hosts again. They are always welcoming and accommodating of any needs that arise. Thank you. Love the Tideswells.
